about

So the narrative progresses and Nero has been turned on by everyone from the people of Rome to his own Senate.
The people of Rome start a rebellion and start pulling the heads of the statues. When we were listening back to some early mixes of this track Aran (drums) commented on how weirdly prophetic the lyrics felt as we were listening to said mixes around the same time that a statue of slave trader Edward Colston had been torn down during an anti-racism protest in Bristol.

Nero fails to appease the people or the senate, by now he's partying more than ever in what remains of the Roman empire. He has filtered the silver on the Denarius coin and spent more time working on his poetry, songwriting and acting.
He now performs plays where he is the only character and pays people to applaud his performances.

lyrics

Behead my statue, light it on fire
behead the Christians who burned my empire
rewrite the pages of history
I condemn the senate
in my poetry
So to my last breath
I will control my death
Behead my statue
It's all you can do

CHORUS (X2)
Severed Outcome, History undone

The denarius filtered, silver traqladerum
the taxes lowered and yet I'm damned
the wolves tear apart
what remains of the streets
it hardens my heart
for all I meet
So to my last breath
I will control my death
Behead my statue
It's all you can do
