This track is written from the perspective of Neros mother Aggripina.
In this part of the story, she reveals that she has hidden the boy Nero from Caligula and married her uncle Claudius with intent to poison him and have Nero take his place. Her plan was simple, the boy is young and impressionable enough for me to rule over Rome.
I utilized more "screamy" Black Metal style vocals on the album when conveying female characters and then I used more of a low Death metal style vocal to portray male characters.

Historically there are multiple theories to suggest she poisoned Claudius' food and then there are just as many alternate theories which suggest she poisoned his wine.
Here we wrote the lyrics as if she poisoned both making it that little more toxic.
